Default Destruction Spirit

Well i'm not so sure if anyone else has noticed this. but recently i started messing around with channeling magic and noticed the spirit Destruction which can cause around 150 damage after 30 seconds. While trying it i noticed it wasn't hitting anyone in 12v12. It would just die and no one would take damage. So me and my guild leader go out and try out the range of this. We started from a little bit over than an aggro bubble away which any spirit range should cover. So we kept trying it and got closer upto the point that the spirit has to be really close in order to cause damage ( like around adjacent to your foe. It kinda made me sad cause since it's a spirit it should have a pretty big range and the description itself says that it should cause damage to all foes in the area (not adjacent to the spirit -_-)

So has anyone else had problems with this spirit? cause I'm hoping that maybe it's some kind of bug >_> and that's not the actual range of the spirit and that it could be fixed

Yep. This spirit has a limited range. You can use Draw Spirit to move it into a crowd when it's about to pop... but this will require some practice and some very good timing. All in all, I haven't found much use for it in either PVE or PVP due to the limited range.

It's not a bug, the description clearly says "in the area". If you take a walk around that annoying little island where all PvP chars start, there's a thing on the ground that shows how far from the spirit the "in the area" exactly is.

Destruction would be rather overpowered if it worked like the other spirits- basically a 3 times more powerful Edge of Extinction that damages only enemies.

Im sorry, it would be massively overpowered if it did ~150 dmg to all foes in the area of the actual spirit range, but yeh the range should be increased to at least half the cast-distance.

It would also do crazy crazy damage if you casted it, watched the 30 seconds pass on the timer, and once it was at 28 seconds just Rupture Soul it and you get huge spike with blind!! BYE BYE WAMMO!

"in the area" is a term that refers to a little over half the radius circle. As some1 already pointed out, it's probably best used in combination with Draw Spirit and stuff like Rapture Soul, or Consume Soul, or whatever. You can also use it to damage whatever is attacking the backlines. It's pretty situational though, I agree. Reminds me of Rising Bile. Lotsa damage but too long time spell needs to "cook."
